Japan Proxy Cost Price my order

Buying figures from Japan

A boxed figure is the typical proxy purchase: not heavy, not fragile in the way glass is, and usually second-hand from Mercari or Yahoo! Auctions. The figure itself is almost never the problem. What changes the answer is the box size, and whether anything in it has a battery.

A second-hand boxed scale figure at ¥15,000 costs ¥19,060 to ¥24,280 delivered, depending on the country.

  • Service fee
  • Postage inside Japan
  • International postage
  • Import tax

The bar is the United Kingdom through Doorzo. Assumed: a second-hand boxed scale figure, 1 kg packed, from Mercari Japan, with ¥700 of postage inside Japan per seller.

Can it be sent?

All five services will ship a second-hand boxed scale figure to all 9 countries this site covers.

What it costs, country by country

The cheapest service that will take it, for each country, with everything included: the item, fees, postage inside Japan, EMS, and import tax where it can be calculated. Doorzo is cheapest (or joint cheapest) for 9 of the 9 countries it can go to.

United States: The normal US duty on figures is zero, so goods made in Japan pay the 12.5% that has applied since 24 July 2026: about ¥1,875 on a ¥15,000 item. See how the US duty estimate works.

Local-currency figures are approximate, at the European Central Bank reference rates of 2026-10-01 (Taiwan dollars at the US Federal Reserve's H.10 rate of 2026-09-25).

The spread runs from ¥19,060 to Taiwan up to ¥24,280 to United Kingdom. Most of that gap is EMS postage and import tax, which are the same whichever proxy you use.

A cheaper way to send it?

To the United States: Sent by surface (sea) parcel instead of EMS, the same order comes to ¥18,800 through Buyee, ¥2,500 less. The trade-off is time: EMS is Japan Post's fastest service and surface parcels its slowest.

What changes the answer

If it is a prize figure

Lighter and cheaper, so the postage is a bigger share. All five services will still ship it to all 9 countries. To the United Kingdom it comes to ¥8,280 through Doorzo, against ¥24,280 for a second-hand boxed scale figure; the VAT alone goes from ¥3,880 to ¥1,230.

If it is a figure with an LED or sound base

The base contains a lithium battery, which is judged on its own. To United States, Canada, France, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong: Doorzo, FROM JAPAN, Neokyo and ZenMarket ship it with conditions; Buyee publishes no rule. To United Kingdom and Germany: Japan Post will not carry it, whichever service you use. To Australia: Doorzo, Neokyo, FROM JAPAN and ZenMarket ship it with conditions; Buyee publishes no rule.

One parcel or three?

Three prize figures at about 400 g each come to 1.2 kg together. Sent as three separate EMS parcels they pay for the 500 g band three times; sent as one they pay for the 1.3 kg band once. The postage saved is largest to United States, at ¥5,710.

Each company's own rule, shipping to the United States. Destination rules can still block a route on top of this; the table further up accounts for both.

When it cannot be sent

Contains a lithium battery. Japan Post will not carry it on this route, but DHL, FedEx and UPS still can. ZenMarket and Neokyo both offer courier shipping, though the price will be higher than the EMS figures on this page. Loose batteries and power banks are refused by every route.

If it is new and in stock

A proxy is the only way to buy second-hand from Mercari or Yahoo! Auctions. For new items there is another route: some Japanese shops sell overseas directly and post the parcel themselves, so the proxy's own fees, at least ¥300 on this order, are not charged at all. CDJapan sells CDs, Blu-ray and DVDs, books, games, figures and anime goods (EMS, airmail, DHL, FedEx and others, depending on the country); Solaris Japan sells new and pre-owned figures, video games and anime merchandise (Japan Post only (Saver / Regular / Express)).

We do not have the shop's own prices or shipping charges, so we do not claim it is cheaper; only that the proxy's fees disappear. This link is an affiliate link.
