Japan Proxy Cost Price my order

Buying trading cards from Japan

Cards weigh almost nothing, so on paper they are the cheapest thing to send. In practice the smallest EMS band is 500 g, so a few cards pay for half a kilogram of postage. And because tax follows value rather than weight, a single expensive card can cost more in tax than in shipping.

A few trading cards at ¥3,000 costs ¥5,350 to ¥8,280 delivered, depending on the country.

The bar is the United Kingdom through Doorzo. Assumed: a few trading cards, 60 g packed, from Mercari Japan, with ¥700 of postage inside Japan per seller.

Can it be sent?

All five services will ship a few trading cards to all 9 countries this site covers.

What it costs, country by country

The cheapest service that will take it, for each country, with everything included: the item, fees, postage inside Japan, EMS, and import tax where it can be calculated. Doorzo is cheapest (or joint cheapest) for 9 of the 9 countries it can go to.

United States: The normal US duty on trading cards is zero, so goods made in Japan pay the 12.5% that has applied since 24 July 2026: about ¥375 on a ¥3,000 item. See how the US duty estimate works.

Local-currency figures are approximate, at the European Central Bank reference rates of 2026-10-01 (Taiwan dollars at the US Federal Reserve's H.10 rate of 2026-09-25).

The spread runs from ¥5,350 to Taiwan up to ¥8,280 to United Kingdom. Most of that gap is EMS postage and import tax, which are the same whichever proxy you use.

Doorzo is cheapest at this weight whichever marketplace the item comes from. The last column is how far ahead it is of the next cheapest service; where the lead is a few hundred yen, what each includes may matter more than the price.

A cheaper way to send it?

To the United States: Sent by airmail small packet instead of EMS, the same order comes to ¥5,030 through Buyee, ¥2,770 less. The trade-off is time: EMS is Japan Post's fastest service and surface parcels its slowest.

What changes the answer

If it is a valuable single card

The value, not the weight, sets the tax. All five services will still ship it to all 9 countries. To the United Kingdom it comes to ¥64,780 through Doorzo, against ¥8,280 for a few trading cards; the VAT alone goes from ¥1,230 to ¥10,630.

If it is a sealed booster box

Heavier, so it moves up a band. All five services will still ship it to all 9 countries. To the United Kingdom it comes to ¥13,380 through Doorzo, against ¥8,280 for a few trading cards; the VAT alone goes from ¥1,230 to ¥2,080.

One parcel or five?

Five separate card purchases at about 60 g each come to 300 g together. Sent as five separate EMS parcels they pay for the 500 g band five times; sent as one they pay for the 500 g band once. The postage saved is largest to United States, at ¥15,600.
